Profile
Colin Atkinson is a SCCJR-affiliated PhD student studying part-time at the University of Glasgow. His research interests are the cultures of Scottish policing, civilianisation, intelligence-led policing and counterterrorism. Colin was awarded a Bramshill Fellowship from the National Policing Improvement Agency in 2007 and is funded for five years. He is about to enter his third year and begin substantive fieldwork. Colin has degrees in Politics (MA Hons), International Politics (MPhil) and Criminology and Criminal Justice (MSc) and is a teaching assistant for undergraduate sociology and postgraduate research methods and social theory at the University of Glasgow. Colin has worked as a crime analyst for the Scottish police service since 2005. He is supervised by Dr Sarah Armstrong and Prof Fergus McNeill at the SCCJR.
