The Scottish Institute for Policing Research (SIPR) and the Scottish Centre for Crime and Justice Research (SCCJR) are holding a joint residential writing retreat for doctoral and early career researchers from across our partner universities.
The two-day retreat will take place at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh on Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th August 2025. (All meals and overnight accommodation are included).
For budget reasons places are limited, hence attendance will be decided via a competitive application process. A SIPR/SCCJR review panel will score all applications against the following criteria:
1. The strategic alignment of the thesis/paper/chapter with SIPR’s and SCCJR’s research themes
2. The stage of the project and feasibility of the proposed writing plan
3. The perceived benefits of and impact from attending the retreat
4. Motivation for attending the retreat
- Please submit your completed application form by e-mail to SIPR@napier.ac.uk no later than Friday 20th June 2025.
- If you would like further information or to discuss the writing retreat, please contact Professor Kirsteen Grant (SIPR Associate Director) or Dr Katrina Morrison (SCCJR Associate Director).
