Norman has an extensive career in policing across a variety of roles across the North-East of Scotland having originally joined Grampian Police. Of particular note, he is a very experienced and well-respected Senior Investigating Officer. Taking a break from CID he was Area Commander for Moray until January 2022 when he returned to the investigation side of policing as part of the Police Scotland Cyber Investigations Unit.
