I am currently pursuing my doctoral degree at the University of St Andrews, focusing on "The Impact of Partisanship on Police Response in Western, Liberal Democracies." My research addresses a critical gap in our understanding of how political affiliations influence law enforcement practices across democratic societies. In an era where the policing of protests and third-tier policing strategies have become subjects of intense debate, my work offers empirically grounded, quantitative analysis rather than speculative commentary. Through rigorous methodological approaches, I provide precise measurements of partisan influence on police decision-making, resource allocation, and operational responses. This work has significant implications for police accountability frameworks, democratic oversight mechanisms, and the development of more equitable policing practices. By quantifying partisan effects that are often discussed but rarely measured with precision, my research contributes valuable evidence to ongoing policy discussions about maintaining impartial and effective policing in politically polarised environments.
